our family was in wenatchee last weekend for my son, Tyler’s baseball tournament. i had dreams of photographing my children up at my great grandparents orchard. i had this sweet vision of warm sunlight, cherry blossoms, and bare feet. i was truly excited to share this little piece of history with my children and document them at such a special place. i wanted these images for my mother, who grew up spending every summer up at those orchards, with her grandparents. for some reason, this was truly important to me.
well, it didn’t quite go as i envisioned. long story short…we didn’t make it up to the hill until just before dusk. we had missed the “good” light and none of the trees were in bloom yet. i took these few pictures and then it was dark.
i may not have gotten my orchard pictures with the warm sun peaking through, but i do have these. i also have the beautiful reminder that things do not always go as we envision them to go, and that’s ok.
learning lessons and teaching my children grace, in every situation.
