• Welcome to my blog…Life, Family and Photography!

I'm Sarah, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a friend and a mother to three amazing, crazy, busy, wonderful children! On top of that I am a photographer. I started really loving photography when my husband and I had our first child, 10 years ago. I never put my camera down and that continued with my boys. Friends started asking me to take pictures of their kids and before I knew it, I was getting calls from people I didn't even know. It all just fell into my lap and I am going with it!

You must know that I do not have an education in photography, my camera does things that I am sure I will never have time to learn, I shoot completely in automatic and I never use my flash. To "professional" photographers this may be crazy, but to me it's what works. My pictures may not be perfect, but life isn't perfect.

I have met so many wonderful people along this journey and have built some great relationships. I get to witness so much love between families and for that I am grateful. For some reason God has chosen this path for me and I know in my heart this is what I should be doing right now in my life.

Here I will share the love I have for photography and day to day moments of my own life. There is nothing I would rather do than capture moments in your life that fly by so quickly. If you like what you see send me an email at mrsg21@comcast.net or comment after a post.

Whatever has brought you to my blog, I hope what you see brings a smile to your face!

dreams do come true.

confidence and grace.

a photographers dream come true.

welcoming ms. pepper valentine.

brings me to tears.

4 days old.

growing up all i ever wanted to be was a wife and mother. i didn’t have any desire to go to college. i got a great job right out of high school working at a real estate closing office, and stayed doing that up until i had sydney. my dream in life had happened, and at a very young age of 21. little did i know that i would be blessed with this thing called photography. when i dream about where i want this journey to go. it’s right here. capturing moments just like this. with people that express such character and grace.

my dream has come true, for the second time.

ashley and nick,

i cannot express to you how blessed i feel to know you and to be the one to document these most cherished times.

you appreciate and trust me. i couldn’t ask for more.

being in the room while you welcomed your second child into this world is something that i will hold dear to my heart for a lifetime.

thank you.

Awesome pix, thanks for sharing them. As a grandpa I loved the pix of Yolanda standing over the crib holding her own hands…there isnothing better or that makes one prouder than to see our children having their own children!

God Bless you and your Family,

the DR.

as many of you know i surprised ryan with a trip to celebrate his birth and to celebrate 13 years of marriage.

ryan, like many men works so hard to provide a wonderful lifestyle for our family, he allows me to stay at home with our children and encourages me to follow my dreams with photography. to be able to give this gift to him meant more to me than anything. i am proud to say that i did it all by myself…i worked hard, i saved, i planned, i surprised.

i knew i wanted to travel out of the states and experience something new together.  i ended up choosing punta cana in the dominican republic. it absolutely did not disappoint. from arriving to our hotel by helicopter and being greeted with champagne, they catered to our every need. they were by far the most genuine, nice, caring, wonderfully happy people we had ever met. the trip was not only relaxing and romantic, but extremely humbeling.

here is a little look at our week….via iphone/instagram

we took a red eye flight out of seattle to ny then flew 3 hours to the dr.

we were tired, and ryan was dreading the hour shuttle ride to our hotel….then i surprised him with a helicopter ride.

he was grinning the entire time.

our hotel from the helicopter. 52 rooms total, we counted 6 different couples/families total while we were there. it was awesome.

our room.

the lobby.

our fridge was stocked daily with, beer, pop and water along with our snack bar. my favorite were these, platanos.

coffee and fresh pastries were delivered daily to our room at 6:30am.

i mentioned that is was ryan’s bday the day we arrived…they had a plate of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine waiting for us.

our toughest decision everyday was whether we were going to the beach or pool…

the only time we left the resort was to go zip lining. i conquered my fear of heights and did a total of 10 lines.

by far one of the best days of my life.

it was about a 45 minute drive to the zip lining place…this is what we saw on our drive…

high school sweethearts maybe?  :)

children would chase our bus..wanting to give us flowers so we would in return give them money.

you would see horses randomly around the streets, not tied up.

school house…

never will i ever take my life for granted.

probably my favorite picture of our trip (even though it is blurry)…my hubby looks hot and i am completely content.

we ordered surf and turf one night and the lobster was so big we couldn’t eat the steak.

we ended up ordering the lobster again on our last night. best thing we both had ever tasted.

the only time we got dressed was to go to dinner, plus we ordered in a couple of the nights…i think i wore 3 things out of my suitcase, other than my swimming suits.

just perfect.

i only took a handful of pictures with my canon…not sure why i brought it, my phone did a fine job.

it is safe to say i love my husband more today than i did yesterday and i cannot wait for the next surprise!:)

this trip was more than either one of us could have imagined.

people keep asking me, would we go back? the answer is YES, we absolutely would, but there is so much world out there to see and we can’t wait to see it.

so…until next time, punta cana.

flying home…we couldn’t wait to snuggle with these three.

there isn’t a day that goes by that i don’t think how lucky ryan and i are to have our parents here to watch over our babies. we both are at complete ease when they are with them and know they could not be in better hands.

thank you, gigi, papa and grandma…you are true blessings in our life.

Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful journey!! The pictures were so beautiful and the story of your enjoyment of the place and each other was inspiring. The best gift you can give your kiddos is a healthy and loving marriage…and you two do that so well!! Thanks for the example. Blessings, Stephanie VO
