today was one of those days that i knew would be difficult, wonderful, overwhelming, exciting…..
two big things happened today, sydney started middle school at evergreen jh, and carson started kindergarten at sunrise, WOWZERS! although i would love to, i do not have a way with words….sometimes i would love to write like my mother and be able to express how i am feeling in so many words and have it make perfect sense to all of you, but that’s just not me.
what i CAN say about how i felt today is….
proud
scared
excited
loved
happy
emotional
relieved
grateful
worried
i am thankful for all these emotions, i am thankful for a husband and mother that put everything in perspective,
i am thankful for three incredible children that LOVE school.
sydney faith {grade 6}
she is in two accelerated classes this year, math and language arts (let’s just say her daddy will be helping her with her math homework
). she also has science, history, PE, and a exploratory block…which is computers/art/woodshop
my question to the kids last night was, what are you most excited about?
sydney said, “lockers.”
as most of you know, sydney doesn’t have a problem getting her picture taken, in fact she LOVES it. while taking a few pictures of her this am, i noticed how nervous she really was…it is written ALL over this picture!

still beautiful.
………………..
tyler ryan {grade 3}
tyler LOVES school. he truly couldn’t STOP smiling all morning.
his answer to my question was, “EVERYTHING!”
that’s my boy!

best smile.
tyler’s homework was to pick a picture to showcase in the classroom all year, this is what he picked. my dad would be super proud.

………………..
carson john {kindergarten}
this kid has the biggest heart and just wants to be good! i know he is going to have a great first year at sunrise. i signed him up for the afternoon class (for selfish reasons), i LOVE our mornings together and will cherish them this year.
his answer to my question was, “recess!”
he was having NO part in me taking pictures of him, but they actually are my favorite!
yep, this is the shirt he picked out for the first day, SPIDERMAN! and HAD to roll the sleeves just so…

seriously, mom?!?! i just want to go to school!

we survived….with only one little mishap, i read the schedule wrong and thought carson started at 1:10, when in fact he starts at 12:45 (with the exception of thursdays). OOPS, double OOPS. i am certain the secretaries think i am absolutely crazy.
although i may not be “mom of the year”, i adore my children and love them with every. single. inch. of my heart.
………………..
i am so far behind on editing and have SO many sessions coming up….my last wedding of the year, a ton of families, a couple more seniors, AND 4 newborns, all born in this last week.
let’s just say…i am in the “heart” of everything right now! it’s going to get CRAZY!
i am grateful to have a few hours a day while all kids are at school…you know where i’ll be!!!
thanks for reading!
